Passek’s Classics 1/2 Chicken Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce and Fries
Having heard that this downtown eatery is making their own fries from scratch, I hurried down to Passek’s Classics yesterday. Perusing the “Classic 8” menu page, I decided to have the 1/2 Chicken Schnitzel with mushroom sauce. This comes with choice of soup, salad or fries and I was please to learn I could have two of these sides by adding $1. The schnitzel was crispy and the plentiful sauce was buttery and full of fresh mushrooms. This schnitzel + sauce also became a sort of schnitzel-y poutine as it was served over the fries. As for the fries, they are twice-fried and crispy, yet soft inside. Give it a try, folks! Let me know what you think. I’ve yet to have the in-house smoked meats, but I look forward to my next visit to try.
