Kamloops Rotary Ribfest 2012
Here are a few snapshots taken at the first annual Kamloops Rotary Ribfest, happening August 10th (2pm - 9pm), 11th (11am - 9pm) and 12th (11am - 9pm) at Riverside Park. This event has free admission, but bring some cash with you to purchase some delicious vittles from the various competing “Ribbers”.

A Cheesy Affair is happening in Kamloops on April 15th, 2012. I thought I’d give a few links for inspiration to those entering, or thinking of entering this fun event:
This competition is free to enter, with the details from the BC Living Arts A Cheesy Affair webpage outlined below:

April 15th Schedule:
At Old Courthouse on Seymour and 1st, Kamloops
1:00pm submission registration
2:00pm private judging, not open to registrants
3:30pm open for public tasting ($10) and Silent Auction
4:30pm announce winners of each category
4:45pm announce winners of Auction
General Public Tasting at 3:30:
· $10 non-member, $8 member
· Cheesy Grooves for your moves
· Open Mic for Cheesy Jokes
· Wear your Cheesy Attire if you Desire
· Beverages available.
Cheesy Dish Submission Rules:
· Entry Deadline is April 12th (no samples are required until the 15th at 1pm)
· Registering a dish for the event is free
· Register via info@bclivingarts.ca or 250-571-5151
· To be provided/submitted:
o Samples need to be provided on the 15th @1pm
o a recipe alone is not sufficient.
o Two indentical submissions need to be submitted
§ Each to be sufficient quantity for tasting as well as a dish for silent auction (please be advised that the serving dish offered for the auction item will not be returned and therefore should be something you are alright with giving away.)
o a separate plated dish is recommended for judging
o Full list of ingredients must be included with sample
o This event is not open to Professional Chefs or organizations. This is an amateur event only.
· We will provide napkins, small plates, portion cups and forks and will prepare the dish for public tasting for you
· Prizes: 1st place winners of each category:
o $100 per category, Bragging Rights, other prizes available
